It was actually a step towards something. Now that it's labeled as a "utility", all that really has done was meant that we as consumers can treat it as such. Radios, microwaves, cell phones, wireless internet. everything commercially and publically available operates off the same band. They- regulate how radio waves are used, and here's a shocker. Why? Because that falls into FCC's territory. With the invention of the internet we should have opened up the reach of publically accessable bandwidth-but instead we are stuck with the same tiny subset of radio waves we've had since those were all defined. ![]() They are the reason we have such crappy bandwidth problems. His big issue is that it's labeled as a utility-and he's delusional if he thinks that the FCC didn't already have it's greedy little fingers trying to orchestrate and adjust any and all definitions of internet usage. Not really much left to discuss if you're someone that's paid attention to any act that has to do with net censorship for the past five to ten years.Įdit: Oh god that second video. a company he used to be an attourney for. The head of the FCC even has joked that this is a present to Verizon. Net Neutrality was the Obama's administration to stopping all talks of that crap, and now the FCC is pushing for it -again. It also allows for them to block various portions of the internet and monitor use (something that was discussed in congress -many- times, like with CISPA, a cyber intelligence sharing act, which more or less would have let the government spy on anyone). It wasn't a scam, it was to prevent companies like Verizon, Time Warner, Cox, and Comcast from going through with discussed plans of further monetizing the internet by throttling consumers based on what they wish to view.
